Summary: A decorative arts collection from France and Bordeaux. Collections of paintings, engravings, miniatures, sculptures, furniture, ceramics, glassware and silver and gold plating will all be on display in the paneled exhibition rooms of the Lalande Hotel, built in 1779. The building was designed by the Bordeaux architect Etienne Laclotte, for the Lalande MP Pierre de Raymond. The collections are rich and varied, and are mainly concerned with French decorative arts, and more specifically those from Bordeaux, from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the history of Bordeaux in the 18th century. |
