Summary: The struggle to the top Asian Dub Foundation, the Anglo-Pakistani group have had to fight for recognition in England, and after five albums and concerts all over the world, they have managed to make their name as a major Asian beat group. Their distinctive sound is a combination of jungle, ragga rhythms, indo-dub basslines, sitar and 'traditional' sounds, and ADF were the first group to discover the miracle recipe: rock, Indian ambiance, hip-hop, techno and dub. But back in 1995, Dr Das (bass) teemed up with DJ Pandit G and the young rapper Deeder Zaman to form a sound system and campaign against racism. With the arrival of the guitarist, Chandrasonic, and then Sun-J, the group was complete and took a new direction. Despite the release of their ally achieved the recognition they deserved in their country. |
