Summary: A very interesting heritage.
The collection of the Cognacq-Jay Museum was left by Ernest Cognacq in Paris in 1928. This museum, situated in a hotel in the historical Marais area, keeps collections from the 18th century. The couple became well-known in the 19th century for founding the Samaritaine shops.
