Summary: A splendid building. A five-year long restoration project has restored the Petit Palais to its former glory. The building was originally designed to be the major fine arts museum in Paris and the carefully crafted lighting is one of its most striking features. The renovation works were planned in order to restore the glorious original details (frescoes, iron working, mouldings) and becter house the permanent collections, which go from Ancient Greece and Rome to 1900. A visit to the restaurant, bookshop and inner or outer gardens is the perfect way to end your day at the Petit Palais. |
