October to May: opens everyday from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
June to September: from 9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closes on tuesday, on the first of January

March, April and October: opens from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
May to September: opens from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The castle of Fontainebleau is a symbol of Renaissance style. 34 sovereigns lived in it from the Middle-Ages to the First Empire.
The proximity of the Fontainebleau forest made the castle an excellent place for hunting. Autumn was the hunting season and therefore the appointment date of the court.
In the 16th Century the best artists and workers renovated the royal palace, on order of Francois the First.
Centuries passed and left a mark with baroque and classic styles, furnitures, paintings and objects of arts collections.
