Description
Close to the town centre, the hotel Anne D'Anjou is overlooking the river and has a view of the chateau above.
The hotel has been restructured throughout and now has 45 rooms offering three-star comfort and facilities. Five of these rooms, on the 1st floor, still have their original decor (Louis XVI, Restoration, Empire periods), and the decor is luxurious. All the historic mouldings which could be conserved have been restored with particular attention. The rooms giving onto the Loire offer a splendid view of the sunrise and sunset, whilst at night, those facing the charming interior courtyard enjoy a view of the floodlit chateau above. You pass through a vaulted cellar, built many years ago by a wine merchant, before reaching the restaurants two dining-rooms. The main room can seat 50 guests, whilst the second, with its original beams and a more intimate atmosphere, has 30 table-settings. The cuisine is aromatic, imaginative and refined. Pride of place is given to local produce, accompanied by carefully selected wines from the Loire Valley. The menu and set menus are changed regularly so as to take full advantage of fresh seasonal produce, and the restaurants wine list is reputed to be one of the richest in Val de Loire wines.
