Abbaye de Flaran
The Abbey is the finest example of a Cistercian monastery in South West France. Dating back to 1115, the rooms and gardens are a popular attraction and occasionally hold major exhibitions.
Eauze
Founded by the Romans as Elusa, the fantastic Treasure of Eauze was unearthed on the site of the old city and is on display in the town's archaeological museum. Eauze is also the centre of Bas Armagnac which is famous for its plum brandy.
Montreal + Seviac - Montreal was the first bastide to be founded in Gascony, in 1255. Visit the classic Gallo-Roman villa of Seviac. A jewel for archaeology enthusiasts, and, typically for the region. The most impressive of the ruins, uncovered in 1959, are the underground heating system, sumptuous thermal baths and pool, and some surprisingly complete mosaics.

Trains: Bordeaux station, then Marmande, then bus till Barbotan or train station of Mont de Marsan, then bus till Barbotan.
