The area is now considered as one of the finest French ski areas and has long been the training ground of Antoine Dénériaz, a native of Morillon and Olympic downhill ski champion in Turin on February 12th, 2006.
Due to its location, the ski area guarantees heavy and regular snowfalls throughout the season. 218 snow blowers complete the snow cover. 80% of the slopes are exposed to the north, which helps to the preservation of the snow.
The ski area is equipped with modern and efficient facilities, offers 265 km of slopes and has 73 lifts and a terrain park. The variety of valleys allows skiers to move from wide open spaces of Flaine to the forests of Carroz d'arache, Morillon and Samoens. The cascades slope deploys a 14-kilometer blue carpet from the top of Flaine to Sixt Fer à Cheval. As for the Marvel slope, it offers a journey to the heart of a 5km centennial forest to beginners. Three Jamparks will delight fans of new gliding, whether beginners or experts.
The valley occupied by the Flaine ski resort is dominated by a ridge, 2500 meters high, and offers a panoramic view on Mont Blanc.
