Le Roussillon

Situated on the Mediterranean coast, the Languedoc-Roussillon region benefits from the highest average summer month temperatures recorded in the whole of France. The landscape is varied : beaches, lagoons, vineyards, scrubland ... With the Camargue, the Lozère, the wolves of Gévaudan and the dinosaur park there is something for everyone to enjoy. The wonderful city of Aigues-Mortes, built under the orders of Saint-Louis and situated at the heart of the Petit Camargue, was the port of departure for the French crusades.
