Auberge des Vieux Moulins Banaux is a real oasis of calm in the middle of the nature of north Burgundy.

Enjoy our parc of 5000 m2, the rivers, the walks in the overwhelming nature that are starting from our gardens or just relax in the gardens under a tree with a KIR !

Our Auberge is very well located for day trips to Auxerre, Troyes (Europe's main factory clothing capital) Sens, Chablis and last but not least the Champagne region, the first vineyards are only located 25 kilometres from our Auberge !

Sabine and Willem, the owners of the inn, are 2 fired up people who have left a great career in the UK catering industry behind them in order to concentrate on creating an exceptional Auberge in Burgundy.

Sabine has worked in Germany and in the USA on 5-star deluxe cruise ships, and in the UK in different 4 and 5-star hotels, holding different management positions. Willem has worked in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK in different 4 and 5-star hotels, also holding different management positions including general manager.

Their objective is to develop the mill into an Auberge that is unique and focuses on quality affordable at a reasonable price.

1 hour south of Paris "The city of light" (145 km).
25 km from historic Sens with its world famous Cathedral and Roman foundations.
45 km from Troyes, great shopping France's number 1 clothing factory outlet shops and medieval town center.
50 km from beautiful Auxerre, with it's cathedrals, historic monuments and Yonne river banks, in the heart of Burgundy.
15 km from the well known Champagne vineyards and last but not least the fantastic Chablis vineyards are just 40 km away.

When you come back from your day trips we will be ready to serve you a light refreshment, a visit through our wine cellars and a sumptious dinner afterwards...

Our Auberge is an old watermill from the 16th century situated between Sens and Troyes on the route nationale 60 or motorway A5 exit 19 Villeneuve l'Archevêque (only 4 kilometres from the motorway).
Once you arrive in Calais take the Motorway A 26. Carry on driving until Troyes, there you change on the Motorway A 5 direction Paris.
Take exit 19, Villeneuve l'Archevêque. Turn right and continue until you reach our village, keep driving on the main road , ca. 500 yards, until you see a flower shop on the left hand side.
There you take a left turn (D 84, Cerisiers) continue on that street, we are the last building of the village.

The friendly and informal restaurant is situated at the front of the 16th century Auberge des Vieux Moulins Banaux, and it has a fabulous terrace overlooking the Vanne River. The extensive menu changes on a regular basis and the dishes are concocted with fresh, seasonal and regional produce.

The restaurant is open everyday from 12:00 to 14:00 and 19:00 to 21:30.

Breakfast is served every morning from 07:30 onwards. All the freshly baked items are displayed as a buffet where you can also choose from a wide selection of fruits, cold meats, cheeses, fruit juices, cereals, home made jams, Nutella and much more.
