Description
The Château de Gilly, former residence of 14th-century monks, is located between Dijon and Beaune, 2-minutes from the village of Vougeot, the finest wine producing area in the heart of Burgundy.
It has preserved its authentic 14th and 16th-century character, reflected in its moats, French-style gardens and a dining room with a magnificent vaulted ceiling.
All of the guestrooms in the Chateau de Gilly are elegantly decorated, stylishly furnished and equipped with modern en suite facilities. They offer pleasant views over the gardens, the village or the Vouge River.
Le Clos Prieur restaurant has 3 stars in the Gault & Milau 2010 guide and offers regional gourmet cuisine. It is set in a former 14th-century wine cellar of extraordinary architectural design.

Surrounding Area
Located in the heart of the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits to Gilly Les Citeaux, the Château de Gilly is surrounded by villages including Gevrey Chambertin, Vosne Romanée, Chambolle Musigny and Vougeot. It is also at the main intersection in the heart of the Côte d'Or. |
Transport
Situé au coeur des grands crus de Bourgogne, entre Dijon (20 kms) et Beaune (20 kms).
The hotel is situated between Dijon and Beaune. It is accessible from the A31 motoway from the exit Nuits Saint-Georges. It is also accessible by way of the A6, A38, and A39 motorways.
Guests can also use D974 Route des Grands Crus.
It is located 3 hours from paris, 2 hours from Switzerland and 3.5 hours from Germany.
By way of the TGV from Paris (1h40) guests will arrive at Dijon. |
Restaurants
The restaurant is closed for lunch Monday through Saturday. It is open all week for dinner and Sunday for lunch. Reasonably priced set menus are available. Choose from the prestigious wine list that includes 15,000 bottles of 600 different varieties. |
