Montpellier

The Capital of Languedoc-Roussillon, situated on the Mediterranean coastline, Montpellier is characterised by the spirit of scholars; doctors and inventors originating from two shores of the "mare nostrum” who went there to study, teach and exchange their vast knowledge of law, medicine, science and philosophy.
Come and visit this welcoming city and you will experience at first hand the charm of l'Ecusson, the historic centre of Montpellier as well as the newer district of Antigone, designed by the Catalan architect Ricardo Boffil. Widely recognised as a centre of excellence for tourism thanks to the Corum, the Parc des Expositions and the Zenith, Montpellier is classed amongst the top 5 Cities in France for organising meetings and International Shows.

Reception

Montpellier’s excellent geographical location in the south of France, between the coast and the cliffs, in the Mediterranean basin, and being only a stone’s throw away from Paris (1h10 mn by air, 3h15 mn by TGV), makes it an ideal destination for both short breaks as well as longer stays. A city well worth discovering and a great place to begin discovering the other treasures of this historic region.
