Fléchères Castle is the largest castle one can visit close to Lyon. Well preserved since the early seventeenth century, it is a perfect example of the life of the nobility of that time in Lyon. The particularity of this castle is that it has had a Protestant church since its construction, which makes it even more amazing that it remained intact.

The castle was built in 1606 by Jean de Sève, Lord of Froment and Vilette. In 1632, he was decorated with frescoes by Tuscan painter Pietro Ricchi. The quality of sets, their conservation quality exceed all that is known in France at that time. Inside the castle there are large beautifully carved fireplaces, stairs with empty cage, kitchens in working order and a Louis XV style wooden apartment.

Around the castle, on 30 acres, a beautiful French garden and an English park can be visited. Both are perfect for a stroll under the trees and offer beautiful views of the castle and the mountains of Beaujolais that surround it.

By the A6 motorway, from the south, take exit 31.2 Villefranche-Centre/Jassans-Riottier, then follow the D44 then the D933.
From the north, take exit 31/01 to Villefranche-Centre/Jassans-Riottier, take the D44 and the D933.

The castle is situated on the D933 between Beauregard and Messimy.
