Tende : Tende Tourism

Ce château, situé tout en haut de la ville, fut démantelé par les Français pendant la guerre de la Ligue d'Augsbourg, en 1692. Seul, un fragment de mur et la petite tour de l'Horloge en rappellent le souvenir. Des estampes réalisées avant sa démolition nous permettent de savoir quelle était son apparence : entouré de fossés que l'on franchissait par un pont-levis, il était flanqué de quatre grosses tours d'angle dont chacune d'elles pouvait communiquer avec les montagnes par des souterrains. A ce château est attachée la triste histoire de l'infortunée Béatrice Lascaris, assassinée par son mari qui voulait s'approprier ses biens.
