C'est ici que Jean Arp et Sophie Taeuber, pionniers du Dadaïsme et de l'Abstraction, s'installèrent en 1929, dans une maison-atelier conçue par Sophie Taeuber, qui servira de cadre à leur création jusqu'à la fin de leur vie. Ils y accueillirent leurs amis, artistes et écrivains des Avant-Gardes.
