Les collections ont été transférées en 1947 dans la villa de l'architecte Gaston Rapin, léguée par sa femme pour y installer le musée. Depuis 1996 ces collections ont intégrées le moulin de Gajac, appelé à devenir le futur musée municipal de Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
