Description

The Palace of Monaco is built in the eighteenth century on the foundations of the site of a medieval fortress dating from 1215. It houses a fabulous collection consists Napoleonic Prince Louis II. Approximately over 1 000 objects are appointments to discover periods Guelphs and Ghibellines until the Napoleonic period (busts, flag of the island of Elba, badges). The Archives of the most remarkable where famous names in history associated with that of Monaco are present. Just a fabulous collection of decorations and medals of Monaco's official music enrich the exhibition. Maps, prints and antique paintings also reflect the past of the Principality of Monaco. The exhibition presents several rooms: the Italian gallery with paintings by artists of the sixteenth century Genoese, the salon Louis XV, the blue room, lounge Mazarin, the throne room at the Renaissance, the Court of Honor and the Palatine Chapel. It is also possible to witness the changing of the guard of carabinieri at 11.55am on Palace Square.
