The Vulcania park in Auvergne is an amusement park, which as its name suggests, is based on the theme of volcanoes, how they work and more generally of our planet. Vulcania depicts science, volcanoes and natural phenomena, in a fun and lively way. The educational objective does not disappear in favor of the fun, on the contrary, the two concepts can coexist. The park was completely redesigned to successfully marry attraction and culture, emotion and knowledge.

The park was built in 2002 with a very scientific orientation at first, which probably disappointed visitors looking for an amusement park, provoking a number of visits well below from what was expected. Over the years, park Vulcania was changed and endowed attractions combining science and fun.

Built in the center of the Regional Natural Park of Auvergne Volcanoes, Vulcania is in 2/3 underground, built on three levels which means that only one is in open air, to minimize the footprint of Vulcania on nature.

Popular attractions such as the Awakening Giant of Auvergne, Dragon Ride and the angry Earth have been opened for several years. In 2012 several new attractions will be available, the most anticipated being "City of the Children, For the little ones, it is great! " Which offers children from 3 to 7 years a space for their desires of discovery. Touch, handle, run, see and move ... activities are designed specifically for them, to let them do for themselves.

For older children, the pyroclastic flows tunnel will be an impressive attraction, since it shows, with many archive images, the spectacular eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. An animated setting reproduces a pyroclastic flow that destroyed everything in its path, house, trees ... and caused ash and debris over hundreds of kilometers, giving way to a chilling lunar landscape.
