Sospel : Sospel Tourism

Le Pont-Vieux est certainement le symbole et l’endroit le plus romantique de la ville, il enjambe la Bévéra qui coupe en deux parties la ville. Un pont similaire peut avoir exister depuis le XIIe siècle. Les deux arcs ont apparemment été remplacés en 1823 sur lesquelles la reconstruction a été basée. Sa tour centrale servait de poste de péage entre le Piémont et la Méditerranée de la fameuse Route Royale entre Nice et Turin. Il fut entièrement restauré par les Beaux-Arts en 1953 avec des matériaux utilisés sur place, après les dommages causes en 1944 lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il abrite actuellement dans cette tour l'office du tourisme.
