Tourist information:
The small town of Three Rivers in Guadeloupe, is located on the island of Basse Terre, just 13 km from the capital Basse-Terre and close to Capesterre Belle-Eau and Gourbeyre.
The city, which was founded in 1645, has the chance to have an important historical heritage, dating mainly from the pre-Columbian period : Indian and colonial . This is why the Engraved Rocks Archaeological Park was created. You will discover an amazing tropical garden with rare plants, and also many petroglyphs, ruins from the original inhabitants of the island, "the Arawak Indians."
Three Rivers has developed on one side of the Citerne volcano, belonging to the Souffrière massif. This has provided a remarkable natural environment. Three Rivers has a beautiful beach, the Grande Anse: covered with black sand lined with coconut trees, just like a postcard image. The vegetation is lush, it invites you to relax and walk along the river or near the beaches.
From the national road that connects Three Rivers to Basse-Terre, you can enjoy a very wide panorama on the Saintes archipelago and Dominica island.
While in Trois Rivières, do not miss the Acomat path where you will discover beautiful landscapes, as well as the Banana House, a museum dedicated to the fruit which had made the wealth of the city for many years, the Honey House and the Seed Museum.
