Chambre confortable, environnement calme, nuits tranquilles.

Séjour très agréable dans un hôtel sympa.

The view from our balcony which was spectacular! The bed was comfortable and the shower was very good. Also, we appreciated the help from the front desk (especially the woman who ordered us pizza on a stormy night and gave us directions to many sights). We also were glad that at times we could close our shutters because they prevented any noise from the street. |
After a 6 hour drive (because of the rail strike) it would have been nice to have someone take our luggage upstairs. But in the end, it did not affect our impression of the hotel. |
We absolutely loved staying here and would be thrilled to return. |

A pleasant breakfast on the front deck, with a good location for watching the boat traffic in the port and an easy walk to town. And there is a "secret" beach nearby. |
Parking seemed a challenge at first but there were always spaces available on various side streets. |

The value was agreeable for the price and the location was wonderful |
The receptionist was borderline rude when first greeted and not helpful. Other guests felt the same way based on conversations. I asked for ice to cool a bottle of wine and was given about 8 to 10 cubes. The explanation was we don't have much........this occured twice so I guess there is a shortage of ice in France |
Overall the cost was reflective in the lack of fiendlenes by staff absolutely no amneities. If ther were some, than it was not explained or pointed out. When someone first greets another person with Bonjour Madame at least acknowledge the greeting. To just stare back and not even answer is rude and this applies in any country. If your receptionist cant's speak than at least smile. It's more disarming than a frown |

The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and looked newly decorated. The view from the balcony was exceptional. The hotel was relatively quiet and the staff friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. |
Complimentary coffee during the day would have been nice or better still a kettle and some coffee in the bedroom. |
Overall, we enjoyed a very relaxing five days at Hotel Darse and in Villefranche. We would hope to visit again in the future. |

Friendliness, central location, good quality of breakfast (8.50 euro cost is extra). Excellent coffee machine. |
Hotel desperately needs repair and paint (mostly on the exterior and balconies). Curtains in room 22 (sheer curtains) were very worn and torn. Additional drape for early morning sun would be appreciated. |
Believe (1) boiled egg per guest would be have been within hotel's 8.50 euro breakfast budget and would have been very much appreciated by guests. If necessary, increase breakfast price to an "optional" 9.00 euros including a boiled egg for guests who want it. Choice of at least (2) dry cereals for breakfast would be appreciated.
