May to September: opens from 9 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
October to April: from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Closes on monday.
Versailles was originally a house for hunters, but Louis XIV wanted it to be the
most beautiful castle on Earth. He chose the best architects to make the
famous castle out of the house.
The architects were Le Vau, Le Brun, Le Nôtre,
Mansar, who worked together to transform the house into the palace we know.
The park is built like a French garden with fountains, basins, statues…
Once inside the magnificence of the “Galerie des glaces”, the “Chambre du Roi” will astonish you.
Don’t miss out on spectacles which the king himself would envy : musical fountains, night parties, concerts…
