Description
Fishermen`s boats and tourist ships meet and rumble each other if the Mediterranean Sea is in a bad mood.
Every day offers the spectacle of the fishermen wives` daily auction of fresh products. Local specialities are available all along the “vieux port”, such as the rockfish soup or the aïoli (mayonnaise with garlic, Sea fish and vegetables)…
The old pier was constructed by Greek sailers 26 centuries ago, in 600 B.C.
The Phocean city was born from the union between the Greek sailer Protis and the Ligurian princess Gyptis.
